Deck Staining in Bellingham
Bare deck boards drink water and grey out fast. We clean, brighten, and sand the wood, then put down a stain built for the Pacific Northwest so the grain shows and the boards stop soaking up rain.

Questions we get
Stain or paint my deck?
Stain almost always. It lets the wood breathe and it fails gracefully. Paint on a horizontal deck tends to peel in sheets.
How often does it need redoing?
Plan on 2 to 3 years for a fully exposed deck, longer for covered areas. A maintenance coat is much cheaper than a full strip.
Can you fix a few bad boards?
Yes. We swap out rotten boards and popped fasteners before staining, so the finish isn't hiding a problem.
